A leisure centre has reopened in Bridlington following a £25m redevelopment.

It features a 25m swimming pool, a fun pool, a sports hall, squash courts, gym and a cafe overlooking the sea.

The facility on the town's seafront closed two years ago to allow building work to take place.

Almost £21m of funding was provided by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, with the rest from central government and Sports England.

Conservative leader of the council Stephen Parnaby said the new centre would help "put the town firmly on the map".
