Former soldiers march to WW1 battlefield

Two former soldiers are walking from Lincolnshire to the Somme battlefields in France to mark 100 years since the start of the World War One battle.

Christiaan Creaby, from Leeds, and Michael Anderson, from Birmingham, are making the journey to commemorate the "Pals Battalions" - men from local towns who enlisted to fight together and many of whom died together in the trenches.

They set off from Grimsby on Thursday and plan to complete the 650-mile (1,046km) walk by 1 July.
