Ten suspected illegal migrants were found inside a shipping container at a dock in Hull, the Home Office has said.

The group of seven men, two women and a child, from Eritrea, arrived at the port from Zeebrugge in an unaccompanied container.

Both women and a man were taken to hospital, although none was thought to be in a life-threatening condition.

The remainder were checked by medical staff at the scene.

The group was discovered at about 11:30 GMT at King George Dock after arriving on a P&O freight ferry.

A spokesperson for the Home Office said the minor would be transferred to the care of social services, while the others would be detained for questioning.
