Hull will be part of Northern Powerhouse Rail, says PM

The prime minister has said Hull will be part of the Northern Powerhouse Rail scheme.

Liz Truss previously said she would reverse the government's decision to curtail much of the proposed high-speed rail line.

Speaking to Tim Iredale, the BBC's political editor for Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, the prime minister said she was committed to improving rail services across the North of England.
