A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who was found dead at house in East Yorkshire.

Helen Harrison, 59, was discovered fatally injured at an address in Aspen Close, Market Weighton, on Sunday.

Rick Parker, 39, of Market Weighton, is due before magistrates in Hull on Thursday, Humberside Police said.

The force said that due to its previous contact with Ms Harrison, it has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

Her death has been described as an "isolated incident" with no wider risk to the public.

Mr Parker has also been charged with actual bodily harm in connection with the assault of a man on 19 February.
