Grimsby and Hull police raids net £740k of cannabis

Officers raided properties in Hull and Grimsby as part of crackdown on organised crime and drug dealing.

Cannabis with a total street value of around £742,550 has been seized during police raids in Grimsby and Hull.

Drugs worth £730,000 and growing kit worth £12,550 were found by officers at an address in Alexandra Road, Grimsby.

Meanwhile, in Hull, more than 1,200 cannabis plants were found at a premises on Clough Road.

Both properties were raided between 6-9 October as part of Humberside Police's Operation Shield, cracking down on organised crime and drug dealing.

Since it launched in September, a total of 311 arrests have been made, with 111 people charged.

Ch Con Paul Anderson said: "We are committed to keeping our communities safe.

"The difference our officers have made so far will have a long-term impact for the people that live in, visit and work in the Humberside area."
