Busy Hull roundabout to shut for two weeks for repairs

A busy roundabout in Hull is to shut overnight for two weeks for repairs on the road surface which is in a "very poor condition", the council said.
The Barnes Way roundabout in Kingswood will close between 19:00 and 06:00 GMT every night from 13 November.
The work includes laying a new skid-resistant surface and improving cycle lanes.
Diversions will be put in place via Raich Carter Way, Runnymede Way, Runnymede Avenue and Barnes Road.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, Hull City councillor Mark Ieronimo said further work may lead to one of the carriageways closing during the day if additional "trench reinstatement" is needed.
"This roundabout is in very poor condition, so I am happy to hear that the resurfacing work will be carried out imminently," he said.
"Not only does this work help us future-proof our road network, but it also helps keep the road safe for all users though we understand that roadworks can be inconvenient."
The roundabout provides access to a number of businesses including Next, along with homes off Richmond Way.
Where possible, access for businesses will be maintained on both sides of the roundabout, the council said.
It is one of five roundabouts in the Kingswood area which are due to be improved.
