PlayZone pitches can be used for a number of sports

Plans for six multi-use sport pitches are taking shape in Hull with residents once again invited to submit suggestions for the sites.

The so-called PlayZones will offer space for a number of sports such as football, netball, rugby, cricket, basketball and hockey.

Potential locations have now been identified following previous community engagement and feedback.

The community can now have its say at a series of drop-in events.

The proposed PlayZones sites are West Park, East Park, Bude Park, Alderman Kneeshaw Park, Johnny Whiteley Park and Peel Street Park.

Rob Pritchard, Hull City Council's portfolio holder for culture and leisure, said: "It is pleasing that the council has been able to choose some proposed sites for the PlayZone programme and can now engage with those communities to discover exactly what they would like.

"PlayZones are an exciting project and one that will continue to enrich our city's parks."

Three engagement events have been confirmed with the first one taking place at Woodford Leisure Centre on Monday.
