Three people have been found guilty of killing a man who was "brutally tortured" in a Hull flat.

Lee Rhoades, 45, died from his injuries in hospital after being found at a property in Bathurst Street in March.

Lee Hailstone, 33, Keeran Edge, 26, and Amie Kehoe, 24, all of Hull, were convicted of murder at Hull Crown Court and will be sentenced on 20 December.

A fourth defendant, Garry Harris, 24, also of Hull, was found not guilty of murder.

The ambulance service was called at 01:20 GMT on 12 March by Hailstone, who told the call handler he had found Mr Rhoades unresponsive, police said.

Paramedics found him on the bathroom floor with serious injuries to his face and head.

According to Humberside Police, a post-mortem examination concluded the cause of death was multiple injuries inflicted to his body, repeatedly over a three-day period.

After reviewing CCTV and forensic examinations Hailstone, Edge and Kehoe were arrested on 14 March on suspicion of murder.

Det Supt Al Curtis said: "The unforgiveable and horrendous actions of Hailstone, Edge and Kehoe resulted in Lee losing his life after being brutally tortured.

"Lee had his life cut short by the people he trusted and called his friends. Hailstone, Edge and Kehoe preyed on Lee's vulnerabilities before subjecting him to a series of horrific assaults."
