Police in Hull say they want to speak to this man who was captured on CCTV in the area

A murder investigation has been launched after a 54-year-old man died following a fire at a house in Hull.

The man was rescued from a property on Terry Street after emergency crews were called at about 20:40 GMT on Wednesday, according to Humberside Police.

He was taken to hospital but died from his injuries on Friday.

Police said they wanted to speak to a man who had been caught on CCTV in the area who officers believed might be able to help with their inquiries.

Det Supt Al Curtis said: "If you know who this man is, we would ask that you please contact us."

Police believed it was an "isolated" incident and local residents should not be concerned, he added.

A cordon remained in place in and officers were still at the scene, Det Supt Curtis said.

Anyone with information about what happened, or who had their own CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the fire, was asked to contact Humberside Police.
