Anthony Ibbitson death: Trial set for Hull man accused of fire murder

A trial date has been set for a man charged with murder after the death of a 54-year-old in a Hull house fire.

Anthony Ibbitson died in hospital two days after being rescued from the blaze in Terry Street on 29 November.

At Hull Crown Court on Thursday, Mark Vaskouski, 27, of Stroud Crescent East, did not enter a plea and remains in custody.

He will next appear at the same court on 1 March for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

A provisional trial date was set for 12 August 2024.

In a tribute following his death, Mr Ibbitson's family said: "Tony was loved by so many people; he will never be forgotten."
