Driver charged after two pedestrians hurt in Hull crash

A man has been charged with causing injury by dangerous driving after two pedestrians were hit by a car in Hull.

Officers were called to reports of a crash in Saltshouse Road at about 01:20 GMT on Monday, Humberside Police said.

The force said a group of people had been involved in an altercation outside a nearby pub before the collision.

Dean Smith, 32, of Stratton Close, Hull, is due to appear at Hull Magistrates' Court later.

Mr Smith has been charged with causing injury by dangerous driving, actual bodily harm, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.

A police spokesperson said a man and a woman injured in the collision were taken to hospital for treatment.
