A man who attacked a dog walker in a Hull park has been jailed.
Hamza Faide, 28, was sentenced to four years and three months' imprisonment at Hull Crown Court on Thursday.
The victim suffered multiple injuries in the attack, witnessed by his young child, at Peel Street Park on 7 July last year.
Faide was previously found guilty of robbery and racially abusing a police officer after he was taken into custody.
Officers said Faide attacked the dog walker as he and his child walked through the park shortly before 09:00 GMT.
Faide, of Coltman Street, Hull, used the victim's dog lead in the attack, Humberside Police said. The man's glasses were broken during the assault, the force added.
Det Con Lauren Ireland said: "Faide's behaviour was vile; both in his unprovoked attack on an innocent member of public... and his racial abuse towards one of our officers. Racial abuse, robbery and violent unprovoked crimes of this nature will not be tolerated."
