Tristan Bradshaw used social media to contact the decoy, police say

A man has admitted using social media to send sexually explicit messages to what he thought was a teenage girl.

Tristan Bradshaw, 23, communicated with a "decoy", including asking them to meet him for sex, police said.

Bradshaw, of Belmont Street, Hull, appeared at Hull Crown Court on 23 February.

He pleaded guilty to four offences, which occurred between December 2023 and January this year. He is due to be sentenced on 25 March.

Bradshaw admitted:

  • Attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child

  • Attempting to a cause a child aged 13 to 15 to look at images of sexual activity

  • Attempting to cause a female aged 13 or over to engage in sexual activity

  • Attempting to breach a sexual harm prevention order

After the hearing, Det Con Shaunie Gilligan, from Humberside Police, said: "This was a concerning case where a perverted man tried to pressure what he thought was a teenage girl into doing things for his own sexual gratification.

"Thankfully no child was harmed and I am reassured knowing he is off our streets."
