Murder investigation launched as man dies following assault in Hull

A murder investigation has been launched after a man found with a serious head injury died.

Paramedics found 49-year-old Jonathan Hutty at a house on Padstow Close in Hull on 24 February after police were called at around 02:35 GMT.

Three men, aged 53, 51 and 23, and two women, aged 27 and 23, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

They have since been released on police bail.

Mr Hutty remained in critical condition for 16 days before sadly dying from his injuries on 11 March.

Detective chief inspector of Humberside Police Ben Robinson said: "I understand an incident of this nature is likely to cause concern within the local community, however I'd like to reassure people that we do believe this to be an isolated incident between individuals known to each other.

"Since we received the report, I have had a dedicated team of detectives conducting extensive lines of enquiries, including house to house and reviewing CCTV footage in and around the area."

The force is also looking for anyone with any information that may help to get in touch as part of the the investigation.
