A murder investigation has been launched after a man suffered fatal injuries at a house in Hull, Humberside Police said.

Officers were called to the property on Alaska Street at about 05:45 BST on 25 April.

Shane Boxall, 44, was taken to hospital in a critical condition and died from his injuries two days later.

Det Ch Insp Jon Cross said two men have been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged assault.

"We are now in consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service following Shane's death on Saturday in relation to the initial charges," he said.

He added: "I understand the concern that this incident is likely to have caused amongst the local community, but I would like to reassure people that we do believe this to be an isolated incident between people known to each other."
