New Dover to Calais ferry service confirmed

SeaFrance operated three ferries on the Dover to Calais route
Two ferry companies have announced that their new service between Dover and Calais will start on 17 February.
DFDS and LD Lines will operate two ships under a French flag on the joint passenger and freight ferry service.
They said it would hire 300 people, many of them being former SeaFrance staff.
In December, DFDS dropped its attempt to buy the ailling French ferry company which was liquidated by a French court on 9 January.
A spokeswoman had said it was the companies' intention to operate two ships on the cross-channel route with French crews on both vessels.
Three ferries were operated by SeaFrance on the Dover to Calais route but the service was suspended in November.
The French firm, which carried more than 3.5 million passengers a year on the Dover to Calais route, went into receivership in 2010.
