Thanet councillor John Worrow fears 'hate campaign'

A bisexual Kent councillor said he fears for his safety after receiving a voicemail which said "with a bit of luck you'll get Aids".
John Worrow, a Independent councillor on Thanet District Council, said he was left the message on his mobile phone, and he thought he recognised the voice.
Mr Worrow said: "I fear that it could be part of very nasty homophobic hate campaign against me."
Kent Police have confirmed they are investigating the voicemail.
"I fear for my safety as I could be a political hate target by closet extremists," Mr Warrow said.
In April, Thanet District Council became the first local authority in Kent to officially support the government's proposals for same-sex marriage.
Independent Councillor Ian Driver moved the motion in support of equal marriage and said he hoped it would encourage other Kent councils to follow its lead.
He said it showed the council cared about the civil rights of its large lesbian, gay and transgender community.
