Kent MP seeks Thamesteel jobs pledge from Saudi-based owner

A Kent MP is seeking reassurances over the number of jobs being created at a steelworks on the Isle of Sheppey.
More than 350 people lost their jobs in January when Thamesteel announced it was going into administration.
Five months later, the Sheerness plant was sold out of administration to a new firm set up by its Saudi-based owners.
Conservative MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey, Gordon Henderson, is meeting the owners of the company to find out how many jobs will be secured.
The Saudi-based Al-Tuwairqi group (ATG) originally bought the plant in 2002 when its previous owners went into liquidation.
