Rochester Airport plan would 'create 1,000 jobs'

Plans to pave part of a grass airfield and close a runway will help to create 1,000 jobs, a Kent council says.
Under the plans, Rochester Airport, which is owned by Medway Council, would have one of its two grass runways replaced by a hi-tech business park.
The other runway would be converted to parallel grass and tarmac runways.
The council would also tender a new 25-year lease for the airport, compared to the current five-year lease.
