Canterbury Cathedral sleep-out raises funds for homeless
- Published
More than £24,000 has been raised for two homeless charities in Kent following a mass sleep-out in the precincts of Canterbury Cathedral.
The Bishop of Dover and Canterbury City Council's chief executive were among those who spent Friday night outside.
Dr John Moss, Dean of Education at Canterbury Christ Church University, also took part and said "everyone learnt a lot more about homelessness".
He added: "It's getting worse and needs more energy and resource put into it."
All the money raised will go to Porchlight and Catching Lives, which help get rough sleepers across Kent and Medway off the streets.
