Driver arrested after cyclist killed in Whitstable crash

Accident investigators were at the scene for several hours

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a cyclist died in a collision in Kent.

Police said the woman was driving a Peugeot 206 which crashed on the A2990 Thanet Way near Chestfield, Whitstable, at 04:04 GMT.

The cyclist, in his 30s and from the Ashford area, died at the scene.

Both carriageways were closed for several hours while accident investigators gathered evidence.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
