Brazil boating death woman's family raise funds in her memory

Gillian Metcalf was killed while on a family holiday in Brazil last year

The family of a woman killed in a boating accident while on holiday in Brazil has begun raising money in her name for a cause "close to her heart".

Gillian Metcalf, 50, a lawyer from Tenterden, Kent, died from head injuries when two boats collided on the Rio Negro river in September.

She had been on a vessel with her husband Charlie and two daughters.

Funds raised will go to the Tongabezi Trust School in Zambia, which Mrs Metcalf had visited several times.

On Sunday, her daughters will take part in a sponsored run and obstacle course to mark Mothers' Day,

Police investigations into the crash are continuing.
