Junior Dian collapsed in the second half of the match

A match between two Kent football clubs has been dedicated to the memory of a young footballer who died after falling ill during a game.

Junior Dian, 24, was on trial at Ryman Premier League side Tonbridge Angels when he collapsed on the pitch at Whyteleafe, in Surrey, on Tuesday.

A post-mortem examination revealed his heart had stopped while he was playing.

There was a one-minute applause for Mr Dian at the friendly between Tonbridge Angels and Gillingham.

There was also a special area at the Longmead ground where players and supporters could lay tributes.

In addition, a collection was made in his memory, with the proceeds passed to his family.

Mr Dian's brother, Prince, said the love and support shown had been overwhelming.

"Half of these players were there when my brother passed away... the love is just crazy."
