'Illegal immigrants' found in lorry in Gillingham

The nine suspected illegal immigrants were handed over to immigration officials

Nine suspected illegal immigrants have been found hidden in the back of a lorry at a business park.

They were found at Gillingham Business Park at about 01:20 GMT on Friday, Kent Police said.

A police spokesman said the force had received "a report of concern for individuals located in a lorry".

They were taken to Dover and handed to Home Office immigration officials. Last month four suspected illegal immigrants were found near Canterbury.

On 7 October 15 suspected illegal immigrants were found in a freezer lorry at the Clacket Lane services on the M25 in Surrey. The lorry was refrigerated to -25C.
