Father-of-one Leonard Naylor was gunned down on his driveway

A man has been charged by cold-case detectives in connection with a fatal shooting 16 years ago.

Father-of-one Leonard Naylor, 46, suffered multiple gunshot wounds on the driveway of his home in Gravesend on 18 April 2001.

Robert Blackwell, 51, of Atlas Road in Plaistow, London, was charged with conspiracy to murder and was remanded in custody by Medway magistrates.

Three other men aged 43, 51 and 52 have been arrested and remain in custody.

Mr Naylor had been returning from visiting his father when he was gunned down on Bracondale Avenue in the Istead Rise area.

Mr Blackwell is due to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on 5 April.
