Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has visited Medway in the build-up to this year's local elections.

Among the places he visited was Gillingham's Nye Bevan Memorial Hall, named after the Labour politician credited with founding the NHS after World War Two.

He told activists they had a "fighting chance" in Medway.

Mr Starmer said the May poll was an "important step on the road to the next general election", expected next year.
