A woman with terminal cancer has fulfilled her dream of riding a Harley-Davidson motorbike.

Ellie Lawton, 59, from Orpington, was a passenger on a trip from Sevenoaks in Kent, to the Route 1066 Cafe in Robertsbridge, East Sussex, on Sunday.

Ms Lawton, who had been given three to six months to live, rode alongside about 200 other motorcyclists.

"I'm not going to live that long but it was something I will remember every day," she said.

The event was organised by Rolling Riders, a community charity riding group.

'Spectacular'

Organiser Mark Hopgood said: "We try to make people's dreams and wishes come true."

Ms Lawton added: "All I asked for was a ride on a Harley... I thought, 'they can't all be here for me.' It was just spectacular."

She explained she had a motorbike when she was younger but nothing as big as a Harley-Davidson.

The Orpington resident, who is originally from Yorkshire, urged other people with terminal cancer to "not give up hope".
