Police said a noxious substance was thrown at a man in St Laurence Graveyard

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses after a man was attacked with a noxious substance in Kent.

Officers said the substance was thrown at a man in St Laurence Graveyard, Ramsgate, at around 20:20 GMT on Sunday.

They believe there may have been people in the area who could have "important information" on the case.

Detectives are "particularly keen" to speak to a man in his mid-to-late 20s who was in the area.

The man was believed to have walked out of the churchyard around 21:00 on Sunday.

Kent Police said the man was not being treated as a suspect but officers said he could have witnessed "something significant", which could help with their inquiries.

Ch Insp Ian Swallow, district commander for Thanet, asked for people to check for any video evidence that could help officers.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment after suffering burns to the back of his head.
