The public voted on the attractions they wanted in the Blackpool game

A Blackpool and Fylde coast edition of Monopoly has been launched featuring 30 of the resort's top attractions.

The new version of the game was unveiled earlier at the top of Blackpool Tower.

Graham Barnes from makers Winning Move UK said "all the crown jewels" were on the Blackpool version of the game.

The resort's iconic tower replaces Mayfair as the most valuable property, with the Imperial Hotel in place of Park Lane as the next most costly.

The landmarks featured, which were voted for by the public, also include the Pleasure Beach, Winter Gardens and Stanley Park.

Advance orders

And the Electric Company in the traditional game is replaced by the Illuminations.

The makers announced they were designing a Blackpool game following the town's football team's promotion to the Premier League in May.

Councillor Maxine Callow, cabinet member for tourism and regeneration, said: "It's wonderful that the popularity of the town is being recognised through this official version of the great game."

Catherine Simpson, manager of games store Who Blackpool in the town, said she had already taken several advance orders.

"We have been inundated with inquiries, some from ex-pats living abroad."
