Jane Clough's parents take campaign to justice minister

The parents of a nurse murdered by her ex-boyfriend while he was on bail accused of raping her have met Justice Minister Nick Herbert.
Jane Clough, 26, was repeatedly stabbed by Jonathan Vass, 30, outside Blackpool Victoria Hospital in July.
Penny and John Clough met the minister and senior members of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Thursday.
The Ministry of Justice said Mr Herbert would look into the Cloughs' case to see what could be learned from it.
'Judge accountable'
Mrs Clough, of Barrowford in Lancashire, said: "I suppose Nick Herbert is representing the justice system and we are pleased that he is looking into things.
"What we really need is action. Action from politicians to say come on, when are we going to stop people being hurt by people who have been let out on bail?"
Vass, of Conway Drive, Preston, was jailed for life in October after pleading guilty to murdering Ms Clough in the hospital car park.
The rape charges were ordered to lie on file.
Mr and Mrs Clough said they still held Judge Simon Newell - who granted Vass bail in the rape case - accountable for what happened to their daughter.
"There is nothing he can say or do which will every make me change my mind," Mr Clough said.
The Judicial Communications Office has previously said Judge Newell was not told that Vass was likely to commit further offences against Ms Clough.
But the CPS said it told the judge there was an "extreme likelihood" Vass would interfere with witnesses.
It also said it told him Vass had committed violent crimes against Ms Clough.
