Man killed in Haslingden head-on collision

The road was closed for five hours for investigations
A man has been killed, and two other people injured, in a head-on crash between two cars in Lancashire.
Emergency crews were called to reports of the crash outside the Holden Arms pub, in Haslingden, on Friday night.
Police said the 43-year-old man's BMW had veered on to the opposite carriageway on a bend before hitting a silver Ford Mondeo containing a family.
The other driver, a 50-year-old Suffolk man, and his passenger were both hurt. His three-year-old son was uninjured.
The BMW driver, who was from Rochdale, was cut from the wreckage but died of his injuries.
The occupants of the Mondeo were taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where the driver was treated for a fractured collarbone and his passenger was detained with a bleed on the kidneys.
Lancashire police closed the road for five hours to investigate the collision and are appealing for witnesses.
