Lancashire and Cumbria cancer patient treatment delays

Seriously ill patients - including those with cancer - in North Lancashire and Cumbria may have treatment delayed due to follow-up appointment problems.
The trust which runs the hospitals is reviewing the entire outpatient appointment system across five different sites after GPs' concerns.
The hospitals affected include Royal Lancaster and Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe and Furness General.
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust has set up a helpline.
A trust statement said that it had, "received reports that there may be some problems with its outpatient appointment system which could have resulted in follow-up appointments having been delayed".
It added: "A team, which includes clinicians, is working to establish the number and nature of appointments that may have been delayed.
"If delays are identified, individual patients will be contacted to make a new appointment."
The helpline number is 0845 608 0278.
