A man has appeared in court to deny murdering a teenage girl who was found stabbed in a Blackpool alleyway.

David Minto, 22, of the Grafton House Hotel in Kirby Road, Blackpool, is accused of killing 16-year-old Sasha Marsden on 31 January.

Sasha was found in an alley behind Kirby Road, South Shore. She had been stabbed in the head and face before attempts were made to set her on fire.

Mr Minto appeared at Preston Crown Court and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at the same court for trial on 15 July.
