Blackpool call centre creates 100 Silver Line jobs

One-hundred jobs are being created at a call centre operating a helpline for older people.
Fylde Coast Medical Services (FCMS) in Blackpool will run Silver Line, a service aimed at older people who feel isolated.
A pilot scheme was launched in Greater Manchester and the Isle of Man last year by TV personality and ChildLine founder Esther Rantzen.
It is hoped the service be rolled out nationally later in the year.
Suzy Layton, chief executive of FCMS, said the jobs were "great news for everyone".
She added that recruitment for the new roles would begin on 12 August.
