The death of a 49-year-old Blackpool man is being treated as murder by police.
Frank Chivers was found unconscious at his house on Walter Robinson Court, Layton at 14:00 BST on Sunday and later died in hospital.
Mr Chivers is the father of Paige Chivers who went missing in 2007 aged 15 and has never been found,
Police believe he was assaulted before his death and have arrested a man, 43, from Blackpool on suspicion of murder.
A post-mortem examination is taking place to establish the cause of death.
Det Supt Paul Withers said: "The exact circumstances surrounding Frank's death are still unclear at this stage.
"But we believe he may have been subjected to an assault which has caused him to collapse within his home."
He appealed for anyone who witnessed the assault to come forward.
