Teenager rescued from Arnside quicksand

A teenage boy had to be rescued after getting stuck in quicksand on the seafront in Cumbria.
The 15-year-old had been trying to retrieve a ball at the shore when he became trapped up to his knees at Arnside pier, just before 11:30 BST.
It took three rescuers from Cumbria Fire Service and the RNLI 15 minutes to pull him free from the sand.
A spokeswoman for RNLI warned members of the public "to always be vigilant on the sands".
She said it was not believed the boy was injured but he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
