Tributes have been paid to a promising teenage rugby player who drowned in a quarry.
Miracle Godson, 13, from Wigan, Greater Manchester, was with friends when he disappeared in waters at East Quarry in Appley Bridge on Friday afternoon.
Lancashire Police later confirmed they had recovered a body.
Rugby coach Dave Myerscough said Miracle, who played for Wigan side St Jude's, had the potential for "a big future in rugby league".
The team asked all junior squads to observe a minute's silence in his memory ahead of Sunday's games.
Mr Myerscough said: "It's an absolute tragedy and our condolences go out to his family. I know his mum and dad, I know they're a really good family.
"He showed so much potential. It's just a shame we're never going to see that potential materialise. It's really heartbreaking.
"He was such a nice lad. So good to coach. Very respectful and at 13 years of age, a real gentlemen as well."
Det Con Michelle Thompson said: "This tragedy was witnessed by a number of young people who were present at the scene. As a force we would like to again stress the dangers of open water swimming.
"They are danger points because of open water, low temperatures and unknown submerged objects, so our advice would be to stay away."
Meanwhile, more than 3,000 people have signed a petition calling for the quarry to be filled in., external
Tributes to Miracle have also been left by friends posting on Twitter.
