A prisoner has climbed on to the roof of a Lancashire prison.

The man can be seen walking across the roof of the category B HMP Prison Garth in Leyland.

The Ministry of Justice said "trained staff are working to resolve the situation".

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said it received a call just after 18:00 BST and is on standby, along with the ambulance service.

The training prison holds a maximum of 847 men and houses a specialist unit for sex offenders.
