About 30 homes have been evacuated after a suspected hand grenade was found at a house, police have said.

Bomb disposal experts from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were sent to Raikes Parade in Blackpool earlier following the find.

The street was closed between Leamington Road and Hornby Road.

A man was arrested on suspicion of making an explosive substance with intent to endanger life and later released with no further action.

The 40-year-old from Blackpool was released following an inspection of the device, police said.

The cordon has been lifted and those evacuated can return home.
