M6: Driver dies in Lancashire slip road crash

A 19-year-old was killed after his car crashed on a motorway slip road in Lancashire, police have said.

The man died when his Ford Fiesta left the carriageway and hit a lamppost at Junction 32 of the M6 at Broughton at about 03:00 BST on Sunday, Lancashire Police said.

No other vehicles were thought to be involved, it added.

The road was closed southbound between Broughton and Junction 31 at Samlesbury for 10 hours.

The man's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers, police said.

The force has appealed for anyone with information or with dashcam footage to come forward as it investigates the cause of the crash.
