Flood warnings have been issued across a county after heavy rain overnight.
The Environment Agency (EA) has put out five warnings, external in Lancashire relating to three sections of the River Ribble and waterways in Nelson and Brierfield.
Lancashire County Council said several schools had also been shut due to poor driving conditions.
Brockholes nature reserve near Preston posted on X, formerly Twitter, that it had also been closed "due to flooding".
The council said Bolton by Bowland CofE and Grindleton CofE, both primary schools near Clitheroe, had been closed due to road conditions and high river levels.
On Facebook, nearby Bowland High also said it had closed "due to flooding and dangerous road conditions".
The EA said a flood warning was the second highest level of alert and was triggered when heavy rain was expected to trigger flash flooding from rivers or waterways.
It has also issued flood alerts, the lowest level of warning, for parts of the River Wyre, the River Lune and the River Calder in the county.
