A man has been charged with murder after a man collapsed at the entrance of a McDonald's following an attack.

Daniel Allsop was assaulted and suffered a blunt force trauma before collapsing at the Bank Hey Street branch in Blackpool at about 16:30 BST on 2 October, Lancashire Police said.

The 38-year-old was taken to hospital where he died two days later, surrounded by his family.

Mali Wright, 29, is due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates' Court later.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses and urged anyone with information to come forward.

Paying tribute, Mr Allsop's family previously said they had "lost a son, dad, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and cousin".

"He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him."
