A former police chief inspector has admitted making indecent images of children.
Steven Sansbury, from Blackburn, who retired from Lancashire Police last year, pleaded guilty to two charges in a brief hearing earlier.
The offences happened between January and February 2009.
The 55-year-old was released on bail from Manchester Crown Court and is due back at the same court on 7 November for a pre-sentence report hearing.
