Blackpool FC and Fleetwood Town will work together with the FA, Blackpool FC said

The Football Association is investigating reports of homophobic chanting during a League One match.

The incident is alleged to have happened during Fleetwood and Blackpool's 3-3 draw at Highbury Stadium on 1 November.

Blackpool FC said it "strongly condemns unacceptable behaviour" which would be probed by the relevant authorities.

Police are also investigating an attack on a tram after the match which left a man injured.

CCTV footage

In a separate incident, the force said a firework was set off close to the stadium, which "spooked a police horse and caused it to bolt".

The horse was not injured but the rider suffered a sprained ankle, Lancashire Police said.

Blackpool FC said discrimination "in any form" would not be tolerated.

The club said CCTV footage would be reviewed as both Blackpool and Fleetwood Town work with the FA "to ensure this kind of behaviour is eradicated from our game".

Both clubs would continue to cooperate with the police investigations to help find those responsible for the tram attack and firework incident, it added.

The BBC has contacted Fleetwood Town, Lancashire Police and the FA for comment.
