Four men have been charged with murder after a man was found dead at a house.

The body of Andrej Minin, 53, was found by emergency services at about 05:30 GMT on Sunday at the home in Fir Street, Nelson, Lancashire Police said.

Det Ch Insp Mark Haworth-Oates said he had been the victim of a "serious and sustained assault".

Waldemar Bernacki, 51, Laimonas Prascevicius, 53, Vasile Olaru, 56, and Rimantas Vystartas, 54, have been remanded in custody.

The men, all from Nelson, are due to appear at Burnley Magistrates' Court later.

A post-mortem examination concluded Mr Minin died as a result of a "blunt force trauma" to the head and neck.

Det Ch Insp Haworth-Oates said his thoughts were with Mr Minin's loved ones.

He added: "Although we have charged four men, our investigation is at an early stage and I would appeal to anyone with information about the people involved to come forward."
