Poulton-le-Fylde self-taught chef wins cooking accolade

A self-taught chef who always dreamed of pursuing a career in cooking has been awarded an accolade for her talents.

Former teacher Seema Dalvi, who is originally from Mumbai, has been named best chef of the year for the North of England at the 2023 Asian Curry Awards.

She is the owner and head chef of Dalvee Restaurant in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire.

"If I can do it, because I'm not a professional chef…everyone can do it," she said.
