Woman stuck in mud on Fleetwood beach narrowly escapes rising tide

A woman narrowly escaped the rising tide after becoming stuck up to her knees in mud on a beach.
Fleetwood Coastguard said time "was very much against us" when rescuers were called to the town's Marine Beach at about 11:20 GMT on Wednesday.
A representative said they finally managed to free the woman 15 minutes before the area where she was stuck was submerged by the tide.
They said she was treated for shock and hypothermia and taken to hospital.
They said she had done "exactly the right thing when she realised she was in trouble and dialled 999 and asked for help".
"Within 15 minutes of the evacuation, the area where she was stuck was underwater," they said.
They said such a predicament "really can happen to anyone".
"No matter how well you know the beach, it changes so much and areas of danger can appear overnight.
They said the recent storms had "washed a lot of mixed and highly saturated sand and mud higher up the beach, causing some very dangerous areas", adding: "Please be cautious when using the beach."
