A toddler was seriously injured when he was hit by a car.

The two-year-old boy was struck on Garstang Road, Fulwood, Preston, close to the junction with the Triangle, at 11:09 GMT on Sunday, 3 March.

The boy was airlifted to hospital by air ambulance and the driver remained at the scene.

Lancashire Police said the toddler had sustained "serious injuries" and appealed for any witnesses to get in touch.

Sgt Matt Davidson, from the force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "First and foremost our thoughts remain with the family of the boy and all those affected by the collision today."

He asked for anyone with information, dashcam or CCTV footage from Garstang Road or the surrounding areas to get in touch with the force.
