A man in his 90s has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash, police have said.

The pedestrian was struck by a grey BMW in Audley Range, Blackburn at about 13:50 GMT on Friday and the driver failed to stop, Lancashire Police said.

The man suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police issued a CCTV image of a car and appealed for information about the driver.

Sergeant Pete Fyans said: "This collision has left a pensioner seriously injured and my thoughts are with him and his loved ones at this time.

"I want to appeal directly to the driver of the BMW to do the right thing and make contact with the police straight away."
